Melbourne café charges ‘man tax’ – good luck with that

Planning a trip to Melbourne? Here’s one café to strike off your list.

Handsome Her, in Melbourne’s inner North Brunswick is the brainchild of someone with business acumen of -12.

The establishment likes to call itself “unique”.

If “unique” means “idiotic”, you’ve aced it.

This is a vegan café with the slogan, ‘for women, by women’. The owner describes herself as “feminist, not the fun kind”, according to Broadsheet.

It aims to address the gender wage myth, sorry gap, by applying an 18 per cent man tax. They hope to start a conversation on the issue. Perhaps the conversation may go a little like this:

“Hello, welcome to Brunswick café.”

“Hello,” smiles an open mind.

“Women have priority seating here. Men will be charged an 18% premium to reflect the gender pay gap (2016) which is donated to a women’s service. Our third rule is ‘respect goes both ways”. Ahh, don’t you just love Leftie logic?

“Goodbye,” walks away laughing.

ps: Australia’s Sex Discrimination Act of 1984 states it is unlawful to provide facilities available to or discriminate against another person based on their sex.

pps. ‘Respect goes both ways’.
