Adamant Mrs A Lands Meeting With Education Minister

Posted by on May 15, 2017

On last Wednesday’s Mark Latham’s Outsiders FB live show, Mrs A bravely spoke about growing Islamic radicalisation in Australian schools.

The former teacher of Sydney’s Punchbowl Public School said students as young as ten brought ISIS-style flags into school, were abusive, chanted the Koran and spoke while doing threatening “beheading” gestures across their throats.

“I had students coming into class flying flags from overseas,” she told us, “be it the Syrian flag and possibly the ISIS flag. It looked to me like the ISIS flag.”

She added it was scary not just for her, also extremely intimidating for other students.

In an interview with 2GB’s Ben Fordham after the MLO show, Mrs A spoke of how frustrating it is that nothing is being done to stop this behaviour happening in Australian schools.

Last Thursday on Channel 7’s evening news Education Minister Rob Stokes told them in an email that no action would be taken. Mrs A says she was “crushed” when she heard that. “It was my lowest point in this whole battle,” she says.

Miraculously, he appears to have changed his mind after Miranda Devine’s cracking Daily Telegraph column on Sunday. The column quoted him as offering a meeting for them to “speak to her personally about her concerns”. He added, “As Minister for Education I am concerned about any attack on our hardworking teachers.”

When MLO caught up with Mrs A on Monday, a meeting with the Minister had just been confirmed for June 8.

“I’m really glad that I’ll get the chance to discuss these issues. We have to start having this conversation. I didn’t know what the response was going to be after I spoke up on the show and I was crushed when I heard the Minister say on the news there was going to be no action. This is a whole generation of children who are being damaged. The disruption in classrooms is so extreme; other children are having their education ripped from them. People don’t realise how bad classrooms have become.”

Change not compo

There have been claims Mrs A has only spoken out seeking compensation. MLO would like to put the record straight.

“Something must be done,” she says. “This won’t just go away. People think I’ve spoken out for fame and glory. There have even been suggestions that it’s for compensation. That is absolutely not the case. I rejected compensation, I don’t want the money. I want change for our kids.”

Speak up NOW!

Mrs A says, “There are other teachers out there who’ve had similar experiences. They need to speak up too.”

Are you a teacher who has seen radicalisation in your school? Are you a concerned parent who feels they have nowhere to turn? Mrs A would like to attend the meeting with the Education Minister on June 8 with as many anecdotal evidence as possible to add to her 200 incidents recorded in 2014. Get in touch, now is the time to speak up. You can contact me at c_barraclough@yahoo.co.uk
